How votes are counted

On each ballot, you're asked to rank candidates from 1st choice to last choice. Each choice is assigned a certain amount of points, which decrease by 1. By assigning a candidate your 1st choice vote, you're giving them the highest number of points and by assigning a candidate your last choice vote, you're giving them the lowest number of points.

The candidate with the most amount of points in your province will be elected to become your Provincial Representative.

Points by election

From the 1st February 2024, the Office of the Head of State will release the point figures of each candidate in order to be more transparent about how winners are calculated and how many citizens participate in elections.

This page will contain these figures.
